A deliberately simple test: close above the 200-day average
The simulation stays long while the IEX closing price is above its 200-day moving average and moves to cash below it. It charges 15 bps per leg — entry and exit — so a round trip costs 30.0 bps.
The catch: it acts on the same close that creates the signal, which is not realistically tradable, and it only tests a company that survived into today’s universe. Both choices can make the result look better than it was.
